Eravikulam National Park History
Before becoming a national park, this region was home to the Muduvan tribal community. During the colonial period, it served as a game reserve under the High Range Game Preservation Association.
The Kerala Government assumed management in 1971, declared it a wildlife sanctuary in 1975, and officially established it as a national park in 1978.
